1 Sep 2017: We are so excited with how our web-app for mindful listening in Albany, NY has developed. The app will launch September 1st and is already available here (click App in the menu above). We are holding a launch party at the Albany Center Gallery in the evening of September 1st. Please come by and celebrate with us if you are in the area.

In between snacks and drinks, we will be leading some listening exercises and sonic meditations. And we hope you will take a few minutes to wander downtown Albany (or wherever your evening takes you), and let the Listening Here app guide you with site-specific prompts for creative listening!

Listening Here is a web-app, which means it bypasses the app stores to be more accessible to everyone. At the launch we will offer hands-on tutorials on installing a web-app on your mobile device. If you can't come by and need some help, please check out this article on installing web-apps on mobile devices or feel free to use the app in your browser.

9 Aug 2017: Thanks to everyone who came to out our Beta launch on August 4, and huge thanks to Alacrity Frame Workshop for hosting! We received encouraging and invaluable feedback from our Beta testers, and recorded fascinating interviews about the inner and outer soundscapes of Albany, NY. Next stop: our official launch on September 1 at Albany Center Gallery. Save the date!

11 July 2017: We've been hard at work developing the app. We've been wandering the city listening to its sounds, compiling survey questionaires, writing instructions, drawing pictures, and doing way too much programming. We've met a lot of cool people along the way and are excited about how everything is coming together. Contribute your perspective on the sounds of Albany by taking our Albany Sound Memory Survey.
